Snickers Really Satisfies!

This week we are taking care of some of our first pet friends other than our own. This is Snickers! He is a mixed Rotty and a sweetheart. His sister is Megan. She is a big yellow lab and a good bed buddy. Both are growing old just like Tim and me. It is sad to see but they have been a joy to know. I speak almost in the past tense because their owners, Mickie and Tom, are moving to Charlotte. At least we have someone to visit next time we go see Aunt Betty.
Gonna miss you guys!

Something to Howl About!

This is Emma Belle. As you can see she had her nose to the ground looking for a new home. With the help of our friend Brian we helped her find a new home too. This sweet little girl has only known life on a chain. She now only knows love, treats and dog parks! That's something to howl about dear friend. Her new owner created the following site for Miss Belle too.

What a happy ending.

No pet jobs this weekend so we headed to Horsepens 40 for the Dreadfest. The bluegrass band Dread Clampitt will be playing tonight. The boulders here are incredible and the oldest of this type known in the world. BEAUTIFUL! Folks from all over the world come here to see them. Some come to climb them. Oh they aren't that high just difficult to climb. They actually call this bouldering. Check out www.//horsepens40.tripod.com. This photo is the beginning of a trail of boulders that are breathtaking. During the Civil war the soldiers would use the boulders to corral their horses. Beautiful!

But first we are going to Homestead Hollow to buy some fried pies! mmm mmm good! Wish ya'll were here!

Can you dig it?

Boy Jack and Forest can. These two could put the "Big Dig" to shame. Careful in our backyard cause you may be one step away from China.

Can you say bath?

What about Bob?

Yesterday we spent the afternoon with Bob (from a distance). Bob is an indoor/outdoor cat. While R&R are gone for a little "R&R" we are visiting with their black bobtail cat. He is shy to say the least. He really wants to come around but is just a scare-d-cat. But he likes to talk to you. Wouldn't you know it - I accidently deleted ALL of the photos on my camera!! UGH. Maybe next time I will be able to post a photo of our little bobtail friend.

Wanna play ball?

Started off this a.m. with saying good morning to Blackie that you might have read about in a previous post. Then we headed to the plantation in Helena to play with Kona & Milo.

The two long-haired German Shepard's will give you a fright when you first walk up but they just kill us with kindness and kisses when we open the door. Kona, the apha female is just a tad OCD about her balls. She might let Milo have it for a minute while she is catches her breath or munches on a sack. The are just big loves.

Bridge anyone?

Linda and John took off again for another bridge tournament and left us with Tiger, (rolling around on the floor), Junior and Rocki.

This is a funny pack of kitties to say the least. Sometimes they hide under the bedspread and you just want to smooth out the "wrinkles". Just makes me smile when I see this.

Callie-Co-Cat

This week we are taking care of Callie. She is an old girl but a true girl. She is all Auburn so is her momma too. Callie misses Dreanna while she has gone north to Alaska to play grandma and can't wait for her to come home. She wants to make sure she is home in time to put out some snacks and turn on the Auburn game. War Eagle Dreanna & Callie!

Likes long walks...

Loves bones! Bud, "Budman" needs some company while his dad is away this week. This fellow is a easy one to fall in love with. The only thing questionable about this guy is his favorite colors are red and white... We need to spend more time with Bud.

Hot dogs anyone?

Would you like a little Rellish with that?

How about some Unyun?

Or maybe some classic red Chilli?

We started the weekend off with our friends, Rellish, Unyun and Chilli. Yes, wiener dogs!

Rellish, (the dancer) as you can see she is a darling wire dappled dachshund and a sweetie too boot. Unyun, besides being the cutest little thing is a piebald and she is a talker (you/I think Tim talks...) and Chilli thinks everybody is mmmm, mmmm good. Careful, she will take your skin off if you let her lick you long enough; she just can't get enough. Don't count this old gal out cause she still has a lot of spirit and lets you know when she wants to play by nibbling at our hands.
Shuuuuuu - while Jan and John have headed to Maui we are stealing all their "Doxies" love! Mahalo guys for sharing!

Blackie!

Second stop today was a visit to Blackie.

He insisted on a close-up because he knows how beautiful he is. Not only is he pretty he is very loving. Loving of the treats!! He is a "chow hound" and loves to eat, eat, eat. He takes meds because of this - Blackie is food aggressive and as long as you "feed" him (pill) you won't notice a thing.
Here is another picture of Blackie - look at the length of that tail. It really is longer than it looks in the picture. I'll try to snap a better shot next visit.

This week we have been taking care of our old friend Toby (right). He is a mess and is always full of energy and a very happy little boy. Toby LOVES to eat and take walks. He is so funny because he loves to walk on top of the curb (I think he has little man syndrome). While his friends were away this week in Denver, he spent his time terrorizing his feline sisters, Millie (left) and Rosie (under couch). Spending time with these "animules" is always a hoot.

Welcome to the Get Away Petsitters Blog. The purpose of this blog is to share our petsitting adventures with you. We hope to keep this updated but may be slack in doing so due to how busy we are in our "spare time".

Hope you enjoy taking a peek at some of our clients we are taking care of right now.
